What comes to one's mind about the topic of macarons? Also known as Luxemburgerli, macarons are a bite-sized meringue-based sandwich with a ganache or jam filling. The delicacy originated in France during the era of Marie Antoinette, although there is much debate over the true origins. Is it unknown to the general public that to some pastry chefs, such as Enric Rosich, creating the perfect macaron is an art form to master.
As you are strolling along down Paseo de Gracia in the Eixample region of Barcelona, enjoying the beautiful shops and breathtaking architecture, take a moment to top in at Moments by Enric Rosich. The store itself is beautifully decorated with a young and fun vibe with displays of freshly made multicolour macarons, and Enric's charming and knowledgeable wife will explain his background and philosophy and how he became one of the most well known macaron artists in the world. The macarons, which are displayed behind a glass casing are bright and beautiful. Some of the flavours include a mouthwatering ganache chocolate from Venezuela, a fresh home made blackcurrant jam, and pistachio with ingredients imported from Italy.
Rosich founded his shop in 2006. With twenty five years of experience under his belt in pastries, he decided to specialize in creating the best macarons possible. There are currently two locations in Arenas de Barcelona and Bulevard Rosa. Enric has been given many opportunities to expand but in order to maintain the highest standards for his work, he has preferred to keep it a small business for now. The most important thing for Enrich is ensuring a product of quality - the prices are quite modest too, when accounting for the thought and effort that has gone into the product. They have catered for special events for companies such as Louis Vuitton and have collaborated with the local Villeroy and Boch. Rosich makes custom macarons and large orders for events but he requires some time to do so in order to make sure the look and taste exceed your expectations.
Moments has two locations, one in Bulevard Rosa, just down the street from Barcelona Sotheby's International Realty's office. Visit Moments today and discover why the Rosich's masterly crafted macaron is a passion, a science and real form of art for so many elevated minds across the world.
